100. Surah Al-'Adiyat The Chargers
Bismi Allahi arrahmani arraheem
In the name of Allah, All-Merciful, Most Merciful
1.
WalAAadiyati dabha
By the charging horses panting hard,
2.
Falmooriyati qadha
striking sparks from their flashing hooves,
3.
Falmugheerati subha
raiding at full gallop in the early dawn,
4.
Faatharna bihi naqAAa
leaving a trailing dust-cloud in their wake,
5.
Fawasatna bihi jamAAa
cleaving through the middle of the foe,
6.
Inna al-insana lirabbihi lakanood
truly man is ungrateful to his Lord
7.
Wa-innahu AAala thalikalashaheed
and indeed he bears witness to that.
8.
Wa-innahu lihubbi alkhayri lashadeed
Truly he is fierce in his love of wealth.
9.
Afala yaAAlamu itha buAAthira mafee alquboor
Does he not know that when the graves are emptied out,
10.
Wahussila ma fee assudoor
and the heart’s contents are brought into the open,
11.
Inna rabbahum bihim yawma-ithinlakhabeer
that Day their Lord will certainly be aware of them.
