70. Surah Al-Ma'arij, Verse 36

So what is wrong with the rejecters staring at you

What, then, is the matter with the rejecters that they rush to and fro before you, confused? (Instead of joining hands).

Then what ails those who ignore warning that they, before thee, are straining forward

So what is wrong with the rejecters staring at you?

So what is wrong with the ingrates staring at you?

What is the matter with those who are kafir? They run about in front of you, with outstretched necks and staring eyes,

What is keeping those who disbelieved from joining you?

What is the matter with unbelievers that they stare at you with fixed gazes and hasten towards you

So what is [the matter] with those who disbelieve, hastening [from] before you, [O Muúammad],

WHAT, THEN, is amiss with such as are bent on denying the truth, that they run about confusedly to and fro before thee,

What aileth those who disbelieve, that they keep staring toward thee (O Muhammad), open-eyed,

What an incorrect notion and an unfavourable judgement these Pagans have, that without concern they rush to hear you O Muhammad and refuse to acknowledge the Divine truth and they ignore the voice from heaven;, unwilling to comprehend !

O’ Mohammad what is wrong with these disbelievers who…

So what is the matter with those who disbelieve that they hasten to listen from you [O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), in order to belie you and to mock at you, and at Allâh’s Book (this Qur’ân)].

Now what is the matter with the Unbelievers that they rush madly before thee-

So what is the matter with the disbelievers that they rush ˹head-long˺ towards you ˹O Prophet˺,

So what has happened to those who disbelieve that they are rushing towards you

What is wrong with the disbelievers? Why do they rush to peer at you [Prophet],

What ails the unbelievers, running with outstretched necks

What ails the misbelievers that they hurry on before thee,

But what ails those who disbelieve that they rush around you (Muhammad) open-eyed (in mock amazement),

So, for what (reason) are the ones who have disbelieved (hurrying with heads) protruding, facing you,

What aileth the unbelievers, that they run before thee

So, what is the matter with the unbelievers that they rush madly before you—

What is wrong with those who disbelieve that they come running headlong towards you,

What is the matter with the faithless that they scramble toward you
