56. Surah Al-Waqi'ah, Verse 86

If it is true that you do not owe any account.

Why not, then, if you owe nothing to Us,

Oh, that — if you are to be without recompense —

So if you do not owe any account.

If it is true that you do not owe any account.

why then, if you are not subject to Our command,

If it is true that you do not owe any accounting -

Then why, if you are not indebted (to Us for life),

Then why do you not, if you are not to be recompensed,

why, then, if [you think that] you are not truly dependent [on Us],

Why then, if ye are not in bondage (unto Us),

And so, if, as is the case, you deny you're Creator and you deny Resurrection and the Day of Reckoning;

If [as you claim] you are under no authority and you are truthful about…

Then why do you not - if you are exempt from the reckoning and recompense (punishment) -

Then why do ye not,- If you are exempt from (future) account,-

Now, if you are not subject to Our Will ˹as you claim˺,

So, if you are not going to be recompensed (in the Hereafter for your deeds), then why do you not

why, if you are not to be judged,

why, if you are not at Our disposal,

why, if ye are not to be judged,

Then why, if you are not under Our authority,

Then had you been (sure) that, in case you are other than being doomed,

would ye not, if ye are not to be rewarded for your actions hereafter,

Then why do you not— If you are excused from (future) account. —

Why, then, if you are not governed by any authority and are not to be requited,

then why do you not, if you are not subject
