53. Surah An-Najm, Verse 53

And the evil communities were the lowliest.

And His Law of Requital annihilated the cities such that they were overthrown.

And the overthrown cities He cast down,

And the overthrown city was made to fall.

The evil communities were the lowliest.

and the Overturned City which He turned upside down

The evil communities (of Sodom and Gomorrah) were the lowliest.

And He overthrew the Cities of the Plain,

And the overturned towns He hurled down

just as He thrust into perdition those cities that were overthrown

And Al-Mu'tafikah He destroyed

And it was He Who brought to ruin and reduced to impotence the cities old Sodom and Gomorrah,

The evil communities [of Sodom & Gomorrah] had sunk to the lowest….

And He destroyed the overthrown cities [of Sodom to which Prophet Lût (Lot) was sent].

And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah).

And ˹it was˺ He ˹Who˺ turned the cities ˹of Sodom and Gomorrah˺ upside down.

And He destroyed the overturned towns (of the people of LūT) also,

that it was He who brought down the ruined cities

and the Subverted City He also overthrew,

And the overthrown (cities) He threw down;

And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah),

And the City of Falsehood, He (also) made it sweep down,

And He overthrew the cities which were turned upside down;

And He destroyed the defeated Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah),

And (that it is He) Who totally pulled down the subverted cities (- Sodom and Gomorrah of the people of Lot),

and He overthrew the town that was overturned,
