30. Surah Ar-Rum, Verse 36

And if We grant the people a taste of mercy, they become happy with it, but if evil afflicts them for what they have done, they become in despair!

And thus it is: When We let people taste Grace they are quick to rejoice therein. But when adversity befalls them as a result of their own works - behold, they are in despair! (Constancy in personality is attainable only by living upright).

And when We let men taste mercy, they exult thereat; but if evil befalls them because of what their hands sent ahead, then they despair.

And if We grant the people a taste of mercy, they become happy with it, but if evil afflicts them for what they have done, they become in despair!

If We grant the people a taste of mercy, they become happy with it, but if evil afflicts them for what they have done, they become in despair!

When We give people a taste of mercy, they rejoice in it, but when something bad happens to them because of what they themselves have done, they immediately lose all hope.

When we bestow mercy upon the people, they rejoice therein. But when adversity befalls them, as a consequence of their own works, they become despondent.

When We give men a taste of Our benevolence they start rejoicing in it. When misfortune befalls them as a result of what they have done themselves, they begin to despair.

And when We let the people taste mercy, they rejoice therein, but if evil afflicts them for what their hands have put forth, immediately they despair.

And [thus it is:] when we let men taste [Our] grace, they rejoice in it; but if evil befalls them as an outcome of what their own hands have wrought lo! they lose all hope!

And when We cause mankind to taste of mercy they rejoice therein; but if an evil thing befall them as the consequence of their own deeds, lo! they are in despair!

And should We extend to people Our mercy and make them taste benediction they rejoice beyond a common joy and if they happen to meet with a misfortune as a result of what their wrongful and unclean hands have committed they nurse despair.

When I shower people with some favor, they welcome and enjoy it. When, in account of their [ungrateful] behavior, they are caught in a distressful situation, they loose faith!

And when We cause mankind to taste of mercy, they rejoice therein; but when some evil afflicts them because of (evil deeds and sins) that their (own) hands have sent forth, behold, they are in despair!

When We give men a taste of Mercy, they exult thereat: and when some evil afflicts them because of what their (own) hands have sent forth, behold, they are in despair!

If We give people a taste of mercy, they become prideful ˹because˺ of it. But if they are afflicted with an evil for what their hands have done, they instantly fall into despair.

When We give people a taste of mercy, they are happy with it, and if they are touched by an evil because of what their hands sent ahead, they are at once in despair.

When We give people a taste of Our blessing, they rejoice, but when something bad happens to them- because of their own actions- they fall into utter despair.

And when We let men taste mercy, they rejoice in it; but if some evil befalls them for that their own hands have forwarded, behold, they despair.

And when we have made men taste of mercy, they rejoice therein; and if there befall them evil for what their hands have sent before, behold! they are in despair.

Or, have We sent down upon them an authority so that it speaks of that which they associate with Him?

And when We make mankind to taste a mercy, they exult with it; and in case odious (time) afflicts them for what their hands had forwarded, only then do they despond.

When We cause men to taste mercy, they rejoice therein; but if evil befalleth them, for that which their hands have before committed, behold, they despair.

And when We give men a gift of (Our) Mercy, they are very happy (as if in pride) with it: But when some evil comes upon them because of the doings of their (own) hands, behold! They are sorrowful!

And when We let people enjoy Our mercy they rejoice over it. But no sooner does an evil befall them, because of their own evil deeds, then they grow despondent.

And when We let people taste [Our] mercy, they exult in it; but should an ill visit them because of what their hands have sent ahead, behold, they become despondent!
