29. Surah Al-'Ankabut, Verse 3

While We had tested those before them, so that God would know those who are truthful and so that He would know the liars.

Yes, indeed, We did test those who lived before them. And so, most certainly, Allah will distinguish between those who are truthful from those who are liars.

And We subjected to means of denial those before them; and God will know those who are truthful, and He will know the liars.

We had tested those before them, so that God would distinguish those who are truthful and so that He would know the liars.

We tested those before them so that Allah would know the truthful and would know the liars.

We have tested those before them, for GOD must distinguish those who are truthful, and He must expose the liars.

We had tried those who were before them so that God knew who spoke the truth, and who were liars.

But We have certainly tried those before them, and Allah will surely make evident those who are truthful, and He will surely make evident the liars.

Yea, indeed, We did test those who lived before them; and so, [too, shall be tested the people now living: and] most certainly will God mark out those who prove themselves true, and most certainly will He mark out those who are lying.

Lo! We tested those who were before you. Thus Allah knoweth those who are sincere, and knoweth those who feign.

Indeed We tested those who came to this world before them and Allah shall most certainly know those who will prove true to their promises and their intentions ad well as those who prove themselves liars.

The believers before them were subjected to the hardship to pass the test in spite of the fact that God knew in advance which one of them was a true believer (and which one pretending to be a believer. )

And We indeed tested those who were before them. And Allâh will certainly make (it) known (the truth of) those who are true, and will certainly make (it) known (the falsehood of) those who are liars, (although Allâh knows all that before putting them to test).

We did test those before them, and Allah will certainly know those who are true from those who are false.

We certainly tested those before them. And ˹in this way˺ Allah will clearly distinguish between those who are truthful and those who are liars.

Indeed We have tested those who were before them. So Allah will surely know the ones who are truthful, and He will surely know the liars.

We tested those who went before them: God will certainly mark out which ones are truthful and which are lying.

We certainly tried those that were before them, and assuredly God knows those who speak truly, and assuredly He knows the liars.

we did try those who were before them, and God will surely know those who are truthful, and He will surely know the liars.

Do men imagine that they will be left alone because they say, "We believe," and not be tested?

And indeed We already tempted the ones that were even before them, so indeed Allah definitely knows the ones who (act) sincerely, and indeed Allah definitely knows the liars.

We heretofore proved those who were before them; for God will surely know them who are sincere, and He will surely know the liars.

And We indeed, did test those who were before them, so that Allah will indeed know, those who are true and He will know those who are liars.

Whereas We did already try those who were before them with hardships. Allâh will surely bring to light those who are true in their faith as He will bring to light also the liars (by putting them into troubles).

Certainly We tested those who were before them. So Allah shall surely ascertain those who are truthful, and He shall surely ascertain the liars.
