23. Surah Al-Mu'minun, Verse 48

So they denied them, and they became of those who were destroyed.

Thus they denied them, and earned their place among the doomed.

Thus, they gave the lie to those two, and earned (thereby) their place among the doomed:

And they accused them of falsehood, and in consequence were they added to the list of those who perished.

They rejected those two Prophets; consequently, they deserved their destruction.

So they denied them both [Mûsâ (Moses) and Hârûn (Aaron)] and became of those who were destroyed.

So they accused them of falsehood, and they became of those who were destroyed.

So they rejected them both, and ˹so˺ were among those destroyed.

Thus they rejected both of them and were among the destroyed.

and so they called them both liars: they became another ruined people.

So they cried them lies, and they were among the destroyed.

So they called them liars, and were of those who perished.

And they said, "Shall we believe two mortals like ourselves, and whose people are servile unto us?"

Then they cried lies to them (both); so they were among the perished.

And they accused them of imposture: Wherefore they became of the number of those who were destroyed.

So they denied them both (and accused them of lying), and they became of those who were destroyed.

So they cried lies to both of them with the result they became of those who were destroyed.

So they impugned the two of them, whereat they were among those who were destroyed.
