8. Surah Al-Anfal, Verse 6

They argue with you about the truth when it has been made clear to them; as if they were being herded towards death while they are watching!

(They argued whether to meet the aggressor outside Madinah at Badr, or wait. ) And they disputed with you about it after the decision had been made manifest in mutual consultations, as if they were being driven to obvious death.

Disputing with thee concerning the truth after it had become clear, as if they were being driven to death when they were looking on.

They argue with you about the truth when it has been made clear to them; as if they were being herded towards death while they are watching!

They argued with you against the truth, even after everything was explained to them. They acted as if they were being driven to certain death.

Who argued with you about the matter even after it had become quite clear, as if they were being pushed into (the arms of) death as they waited.

Arguing with you concerning the truth after it had become clear, as if they were being driven toward death while they were looking on.

[so, too,] they would argue with thee about the truth [itself] after it had become manifest - just as if they were being driven towards death and beheld it with their very eyes.

Disputing with thee of the Truth after it had been made manifest, as if they were being driven to death visible.

Contending with you with opposing arguments after it had been made clear to them that victory would sit on their helm. Yet they behaved as if they would be driven to death being shaped to them in their minds' eyes as a monstrous apparition.

They were disputing with you about the necessity of the mission, although they knew the truth. They were behaving as if they were seeing the death in front of them.

They (the disbelievers) dispute with thee concerning the truth after it has become manifest, as though they are being driven to death while they actually see it.

Debating with you about the truth after it was made clear, as if they were pushed towards death and they (actually) saw it.

These (disbelievers) disputed with you concerning the truth (of Islam) after it had been made clear (by signs and proofs). (On being invited to accept Islam they were behaving) as though they were being driven towards death, but they will actually be facing death very soon.

They disputed with you concerning the truth after it had become clear, as if they were being driven towards death as they looked on.
