34. Surah Saba, Verse 54

And they will be separated from what they had desired, as was done for their counterparts before. They have been in grave doubt.

As a result, a barrier will be set between them and what they desired, as will be done for people of their kind of older times. For, behold, they too were lost in doubt, suspicion.

And a barrier will be set between them and what they desire, as was done with their sects before; they were in sceptical doubt.

And a barrier will be set between them and what they had desired, as was done for their counterparts before. They have been in grave doubt.

They will be separated from what they had desired, as was done for their counterparts before. They have been in grave doubt.

A barrier will be set up between them and the thing that they desire, just as was done with their kind before. They too were in a state of crippling doubt.

Consequently, they were deprived of everything they longed for. This is the same fate as their counterparts in the previous generations. They harbored too many doubts.

A barrier shall be raised between them and what they desired, as was done with their partisans before. They too were filled with disquieting doubt.

And prevention will be placed between them and what they desire, as was done with their kind before. Indeed, they were in disquieting denial.

And so, a barrier will be set between them and all that they had [ever] desired, as will be done to such of their kind as lived before their time: for, behold, they [too] were lost in doubt amounting to suspicion.

And a gulf is set between them and that which they desire, as was done for people of their kind of old. Lo! they were in hopeless doubt.

And now between right and wrong resides justice intervening between them and their wish of attaining faith now in order to escape the torment of the fire facing them but they cannot. This is exactly what had befallen their likes who were suspicious of the truth which they considered void for uncertainty.

That is why their confession will not be accepted. They will have the same fate of the previous disbelievers who entertained too many doubts.

And a barrier will be set between them and that which they desire [i.e. At-Taubah (turning to Allâh in repentance) and the accepting of Faith], as was done in the past with the people of their kind. Verily, they have been in grave doubt.

And between them and their desires, is placed a barrier, as was done in the past with their partisans: for they were indeed in suspicious (disquieting) doubt.

They will be sealed off from whatever they desire, as was done to their counterparts before. Indeed, they were ˹all˺ in alarming doubt.

And a barrier will be placed between them and that which they desire, as it will be done with the people of their kind who were before (them). They have been in a perplexing doubt.

when a barrier has been placed between them and what they desire, just as was done with their kind before? They were deep in doubt and suspicion.

And a barrier is set between them and that they desire, as was done with the likes of them aforetime; they were in doubt disquieting.

And there shall be a barrier between them and that which they lust after; as we did with their fellow sectaries before; verily, they were in hesitating doubt.

(Seeing) they disbelieved in it before. And they aim at the unseen from afar off (with far out conjectures)

And a barrier was interposed between them and what they desire (i. e., repentance) as was performed to sects similar to them earlier; surely they were in doubt, causing suspicion.

And a bar shall be placed between them and that which they shall desire; as it hath been done with those who behaved like them heretofore: Because they have been in a doubt which hath caused scandal.

And between them and their desires, a barrier is placed, as was done (and a barrier placed) in the past with the people of their party: Verily, they were truly in a grave doubt.

A barrier has been placed between them and their longings (and they will fail to see the realisation of their hearts desire, the failure of the Prophet in his mission), as was done with the people similar to them before (this). They (too) suffered from disquieting doubts.

A barrier will be set up between them and what they long for, just as was done formerly with their counterparts. Indeed they used to be in grave doubt.
