74. Surah Al-Muddaththir, Verse 17

I will exhaust him in climbing.

I will cause him to walk an exhausting uphill climb.

I will burden him with a steep ascent.

I will exhaust him in ascending.

I will exhaust him in climbing.

I will force him to climb a fiery slope.

I will increasingly punish him.

I shall inflict on him hardship,

I will cover him with arduous torment.

[and so] I shall constrain him to endure a painful uphill climb!

On him I shall impose a fearful doom.

Such persons I will afflict with endless calamities and make the like unable to hold his own.

Pretty soon he has to face me so that I sentence him to a terrible punishment.

I shall oblige him to (climb a slippery mountain in the Hell-fire called As-Sa‘ûd, or) face a severe torment!

Soon will I visit him with a mount of calamities!

I will make his fate unbearable,

I will force him to climb the mountain Sa‘ūd.

I will inflict a spiralling torment on him.

and I shall constrain him to a hard ascent.

I will drive him up a hill!

Will impose on him a fearful doom.

I will soon oppress him to a (hard) mounting (in calamities).

I will afflict him with grievous calamities:

Soon will I visit him with a mountain of miseries!

Rather I will inflict on him an increasingly overwhelming torment.

Soon I will overwhelm him with hardship.
