36. Surah Ya-Sin Ya-Sin

  • بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّح۪يمِ

    Bismi Allahi arrahmani arraheem

    In the name of Allah, All-Merciful, Most Merciful

  • 1.

    يٰسٓۜ

    Ya-seen

    Ya Sin.

  • 2.

    وَالْقُرْاٰنِ الْحَك۪يمِۙ

    Walqur-ani alhakeem

    By the Wise Qur’an.

  • 3.

    اِنَّكَ لَمِنَ الْمُرْسَل۪ينَۙ

    Innaka lamina almursaleen

    Truly you are one of the Messengers

  • 4.

    عَلٰى صِرَاطٍ مُسْتَق۪يمٍۜ

    AAala siratin mustaqeem

    on a Straight Path.

  • 5.

    تَنْز۪يلَ الْعَز۪يزِ الرَّح۪يمِۙ

    Tanzeela alAAazeezi arraheem

    The revelation of the Almighty, the Most Merciful

  • 6.

    لِتُنْذِرَ قَوْماً مَٓا اُنْذِرَ اٰبَٓاؤُ۬هُمْ فَهُمْ غَافِلُونَ

    Litunthira qawman ma onthiraabaohum fahum ghafiloon

    so that you may warn a people whose fathers were not warned and who are therefore unaware.

  • 7.

    لَقَدْ حَقَّ الْقَوْلُ عَلٰٓى اَكْثَرِهِمْ فَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ

    Laqad haqqa alqawlu AAalaaktharihim fahum la yu/minoon

    The Word has been justly carried out against most of them so they have no iman.

  • 8.

    اِنَّا جَعَلْنَا ف۪ٓي اَعْنَاقِهِمْ اَغْلَالاً فَهِيَ اِلَى الْاَذْقَانِ فَهُمْ مُقْمَحُونَ

    Inna jaAAalna fee aAAnaqihimaghlalan fahiya ila al-athqani fahummuqmahoon

    We have put iron collars round their necks reaching up to the chin, so that their heads are forced back.

  • 9.

    وَجَعَلْنَا مِنْ بَيْنِ اَيْد۪يهِمْ سَداًّ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِمْ سَداًّ فَاَغْشَيْنَاهُمْ فَهُمْ لَا يُبْصِرُونَ

    WajaAAalna min bayni aydeehim saddanwamin khalfihim saddan faaghshaynahum fahum la yubsiroon

    We have placed a barrier in front of them and a barrier behind them, blindfolding them so that they cannot see.

  • 10.

    وَسَوَٓاءٌ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَاَنْذَرْتَهُمْ اَمْ لَمْ تُنْذِرْهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ

    Wasawaon AAalayhim aanthartahumam lam tunthirhum la yu/minoon

    It makes no difference to them whether you warn them or do not warn them: they will not have iman.

  • 11.

    اِنَّمَا تُنْذِرُ مَنِ اتَّبَعَ الذِّكْرَ وَخَشِيَ الرَّحْمٰنَ بِالْغَيْبِۚ فَبَشِّرْهُ بِمَغْفِرَةٍ وَاَجْرٍ كَر۪يمٍ

    Innama tunthiru mani ittabaAAaaththikra wakhashiya arrahmanabilghaybi fabashshirhu bimaghfiratin waajrin kareem

    You can only warn those who act on the Reminder and fear the All-Merciful in the Unseen. Give them the good news of forgiveness and a generous reward.

  • 12.

    اِنَّا نَحْنُ نُحْـيِ الْمَوْتٰى وَنَكْتُبُ مَا قَدَّمُوا وَاٰثَارَهُمْۜ وَكُلَّ شَيْءٍ اَحْصَيْنَاهُ ف۪ٓي اِمَامٍ مُب۪ينٍ۟

    Inna nahnu nuhyeealmawta wanaktubu ma qaddamoo waatharahumwakulla shay-in ahsaynahu fee imamin mubeen

    We bring the dead to life and We record what they send ahead and what they leave behind. We have listed everything in a clear register.

  • 13.

    وَاضْرِبْ لَهُمْ مَثَلاً اَصْحَابَ الْقَرْيَةِۢ اِذْ جَٓاءَهَا الْمُرْسَلُونَۚ

    Wadrib lahum mathalan as-habaalqaryati ith jaaha almursaloon

    Make an example for them of the inhabitants of the city when the Messengers came to it.

  • 14.

    اِذْ اَرْسَلْـنَٓا اِلَيْهِمُ اثْنَيْنِ فَكَذَّبُوهُمَا فَعَزَّزْنَا بِثَالِثٍ فَقَالُٓوا اِنَّٓا اِلَيْكُمْ مُرْسَلُونَ

    Ith arsalna ilayhimu ithnaynifakaththaboohuma faAAazzazna bithalithinfaqaloo inna ilaykum mursaloon

    When We sent them two and they denied them both, so We reinforced them with a third. They said, ‘Truly We have been sent to you as Messengers.’

  • 15.

    قَالُوا مَٓا اَنْتُمْ اِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِثْلُنَاۙ وَمَٓا اَنْزَلَ الرَّحْمٰنُ مِنْ شَيْءٍۙ اِنْ اَنْتُمْ اِلَّا تَكْذِبُونَ

    Qaloo ma antum illabasharun mithluna wama anzala arrahmanumin shay-in in antum illa takthiboon

    They said, ‘You are nothing but human beings like ourselves. The All-Merciful has not sent down anything. You are simply lying.’

  • 16.

    قَالُوا رَبُّنَا يَعْلَمُ اِنَّٓا اِلَيْكُمْ لَمُرْسَلُونَ

    Qaloo rabbuna yaAAlamu innailaykum lamursaloon

    They said, ‘Our Lord knows we have been sent as Messengers to you.

  • 17.

    وَمَا عَلَيْنَٓا اِلَّا الْبَلَاغُ الْمُب۪ينُ

    Wama AAalayna illaalbalaghu almubeen

    We are only responsible for clear transmission. ’

  • 18.

    قَالُٓوا اِنَّا تَطَيَّرْنَا بِكُمْۚ لَئِنْ لَمْ تَنْتَهُوا لَنَرْجُمَنَّكُمْ وَلَيَمَسَّنَّكُمْ مِنَّا عَذَابٌ اَل۪يمٌ

    Qaloo inna tatayyarnabikum la-in lam tantahoo lanarjumannakum walayamassannakum minnaAAathabun aleem

    They said, ‘We see an evil omen in you. If you do not stop we will stone you and you will suffer a painful punishment at our hands.’

  • 19.

    قَالُوا طَٓائِرُكُمْ مَعَكُمْۜ اَئِنْ ذُكِّرْتُمْۜ بَلْ اَنْتُمْ قَوْمٌ مُسْرِفُونَ

    Qaloo ta-irukum maAAakum a-in thukkirtumbal antum qawmun musrifoon

    They said, ‘Your evil omen is in yourselves. Is it not just that you have been reminded? No, you are an unbridled people!’

  • 20.

    وَجَٓاءَ مِنْ اَقْصَا الْمَد۪ينَةِ رَجُلٌ يَسْعٰى قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ اتَّبِعُوا الْمُرْسَل۪ينَۙ

    Wajaa min aqsa almadeenatirajulun yasAAa qala ya qawmi ittabiAAooalmursaleen

    A man came running from the far side of the city, saying, ‘My people! follow the Messengers!

  • 21.

    اِتَّبِعُوا مَنْ لَا يَسْـَٔلُكُمْ اَجْراً وَهُمْ مُهْتَدُونَ

    IttabiAAoo man la yas-alukum ajranwahum muhtadoon

    Follow those who do not ask you for any wage and who have received guidance.

  • 22.

    وَمَا لِيَ لَٓا اَعْبُدُ الَّذ۪ي فَطَرَن۪ي وَاِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ

    Wama liya la aAAbudu allatheefataranee wa-ilayhi turjaAAoon

    Why indeed should I not worship Him Who brought me into being, Him to Whom you will be returned?

  • 23.

    ءَاَتَّخِذُ مِنْ دُونِه۪ٓ اٰلِهَةً اِنْ يُرِدْنِ الرَّحْمٰنُ بِضُرٍّ لَا تُغْنِ عَنّ۪ي شَفَاعَتُهُمْ شَيْـٔاً وَلَا يُنْقِذُونِۚ

    Aattakhithu min doonihi alihatanin yuridni arrahmanu bidurrin la tughniAAannee shafaAAatuhum shay-an wala yunqithoon

    Am I to take as gods instead of Him those whose intercession, if the All-Merciful desires harm for me, will not help me at all and cannot save me?

  • 24.

    اِنّ۪ٓي اِذاً لَف۪ي ضَلَالٍ مُب۪ينٍ

    Innee ithan lafee dalalinmubeen

    In that case I would clearly be misguided.

  • 25.

    اِنّ۪ٓي اٰمَنْتُ بِرَبِّكُمْ فَاسْمَعُونِۜ

    Innee amantu birabbikum fasmaAAoon

    I have iman in your Lord so listen to me!’

  • 26.

    ق۪يلَ ادْخُلِ الْجَنَّةَۜ قَالَ يَا لَيْتَ قَوْم۪ي يَعْلَمُونَۙ

    Qeela odkhuli aljannata qala yalayta qawmee yaAAlamoon

    He was told, ‘Enter the Garden!’ He said, ‘If my people only knew

  • 27.

    بِمَا غَفَرَ ل۪ي رَبّ۪ي وَجَعَلَن۪ي مِنَ الْمُكْرَم۪ينَ

    Bima ghafara lee rabbee wajaAAalaneemina almukrameen

    how my Lord has forgiven me and placed me among the honoured ones!’

  • 28.

    وَمَٓا اَنْزَلْنَا عَلٰى قَوْمِه۪ مِنْ بَعْدِه۪ مِنْ جُنْدٍ مِنَ السَّمَٓاءِ وَمَا كُنَّا مُنْزِل۪ينَ

    Wama anzalna AAalaqawmihi min baAAdihi min jundin mina assama-i wamakunna munzileen

    We did not send down to his people any host from heaven after him nor would We send one down.

  • 29.

    اِنْ كَانَتْ اِلَّا صَيْحَةً وَاحِدَةً فَاِذَا هُمْ خَامِدُونَ

    In kanat illa sayhatanwahidatan fa-itha hum khamidoon

    It was but one Great Blast and they were extinct.

  • 30.

    يَا حَسْرَةً عَلَى الْعِبَادِۚ مَا يَأْت۪يهِمْ مِنْ رَسُولٍ اِلَّا كَانُوا بِه۪ يَسْتَهْزِؤُ۫نَ

    Ya hasratan AAalaalAAibadi ma ya/teehim min rasoolin illa kanoobihi yastahzi-oon

    Alas for My slaves! No Messenger comes to them without their mocking him.

  • 31.

    اَلَمْ يَرَوْا كَمْ اَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُمْ مِنَ الْقُرُونِ اَنَّهُمْ اِلَيْهِمْ لَا يَرْجِعُونَ

    Alam yaraw kam ahlakna qablahum minaalqurooni annahum ilayhim la yarjiAAoon

    Do they not see how many generations before them We have destroyed and that they will not return to them?

  • 32.

    وَاِنْ كُلٌّ لَمَّا جَم۪يعٌ لَدَيْنَا مُحْضَرُونَ۟

    Wa-in kullun lamma jameeAAun ladaynamuhdaroon

    Each and every one will be summoned to Our presence.

  • 33.

    وَاٰيَةٌ لَهُمُ الْاَرْضُ الْمَيْتَةُۚ اَحْيَيْنَاهَا وَاَخْرَجْنَا مِنْهَا حَباًّ فَمِنْهُ يَأْكُلُونَ

    Waayatun lahumu al-ardualmaytatu ahyaynaha waakhrajna minhahabban faminhu ya/kuloon

    A Sign for them is the dead land which We bring to life and from which We bring forth grain of which they eat.

  • 34.

    وَجَعَلْنَا ف۪يهَا جَنَّاتٍ مِنْ نَخ۪يلٍ وَاَعْنَابٍ وَفَجَّرْنَا ف۪يهَا مِنَ الْعُيُونِۙ

    WajaAAalna feeha jannatinmin nakheelin waaAAnabin wafajjarna feehamina alAAuyoon

    We place in it gardens of dates and grapes, and cause springs to gush out in it,

  • 35.

    لِيَأْكُلُوا مِنْ ثَمَرِه۪ۙ وَمَا عَمِلَتْهُ اَيْد۪يهِمْۜ اَفَلَا يَشْكُرُونَ

    Liya/kuloo min thamarihi wamaAAamilat-hu aydeehim afala yashkuroon

    so they may eat its fruits – they did not do it themselves. So will they not be thankful?

  • 36.

    سُبْحَانَ الَّذ۪ي خَلَقَ الْاَزْوَاجَ كُلَّهَا مِمَّا تُنْبِتُ الْاَرْضُ وَمِنْ اَنْفُسِهِمْ وَمِمَّا لَا يَعْلَمُونَ

    Subhana allathee khalaqaal-azwaja kullaha mimma tunbitu al-arduwamin anfusihim wamimma la yaAAlamoon

    Glory be to Him who created all the pairs: from what the earth produces and from themselves and from things unknown to them.

  • 37.

    وَاٰيَةٌ لَهُمُ الَّيْلُۚ نَسْلَخُ مِنْهُ النَّهَارَ فَاِذَا هُمْ مُظْلِمُونَۙ

    Waayatun lahumu allaylu naslakhuminhu annahara fa-itha hum muthlimoon

    A Sign for them is the night: We peel the day away from it and there they are in darkness.

  • 38.

    وَالشَّمْسُ تَجْر۪ي لِمُسْتَقَرٍّ لَهَاۜ ذٰلِكَ تَقْد۪يرُ الْعَز۪يزِ الْعَل۪يمِۜ

    Washshamsu tajree limustaqarrin lahathalika taqdeeru alAAazeezi alAAaleem

    And the sun runs to its resting place. That is the decree of the Almighty, the All-Knowing.

  • 39.

    وَالْقَمَرَ قَدَّرْنَاهُ مَنَازِلَ حَتّٰى عَادَ كَالْعُرْجُونِ الْقَد۪يمِ

    Walqamara qaddarnahu manazilahatta AAada kalAAurjooni alqadeem

    And We have decreed set phases for the moon, until it ends up looking like an old palm spathe.

  • 40.

    لَا الشَّمْسُ يَنْبَغ۪ي لَـهَٓا اَنْ تُدْرِكَ الْقَمَرَ وَلَا الَّيْلُ سَابِقُ النَّهَارِۜ وَكُلٌّ ف۪ي فَلَكٍ يَسْبَحُونَ

    La ashshamsu yanbaghee lahaan tudrika alqamara wala allaylu sabiqu annahariwakullun fee falakin yasbahoon

    It is not for the sun to overtake the moon nor for the night to outstrip the day; each one is swimming in a sphere.

  • 41.

    وَاٰيَةٌ لَهُمْ اَنَّا حَمَلْنَا ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ فِي الْفُلْكِ الْمَشْحُونِۙ

    Waayatun lahum anna hamalnathurriyyatahum fee alfulki almashhoon

    A Sign for them is that We carried their families in the laden ship.

  • 42.

    وَخَلَقْنَا لَهُمْ مِنْ مِثْلِه۪ مَا يَرْكَبُونَ

    Wakhalaqna lahum min mithlihi mayarkaboon

    And We have created for them the like of it in which they sail.

  • 43.

    وَاِنْ نَشَأْ نُغْرِقْهُمْ فَلَا صَر۪يخَ لَهُمْ وَلَا هُمْ يُنْقَذُونَۙ

    Wa-in nasha/ nughriqhum fala sareekhalahum wala hum yunqathoon

    If We wished, We could drown them with no one to hear their cry, and then they would not be saved –

  • 44.

    اِلَّا رَحْمَةً مِنَّا وَمَتَاعاً اِلٰى ح۪ينٍ

    Illa rahmatan minnawamataAAan ila heen

    except as an act of mercy from Us, to give them enjoyment for a time.

  • 45.

    وَاِذَا ق۪يلَ لَهُمُ اتَّقُوا مَا بَيْنَ اَيْد۪يكُمْ وَمَا خَلْفَكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ

    Wa-itha qeela lahumu ittaqoo mabayna aydeekum wama khalfakum laAAallakum turhamoon

    They are told, ‘Have taqwa of what is before you and behind you so that hopefully you will have mercy shown to you. ’

  • 46.

    وَمَا تَأْت۪يهِمْ مِنْ اٰيَةٍ مِنْ اٰيَاتِ رَبِّهِمْ اِلَّا كَانُوا عَنْهَا مُعْرِض۪ينَ

    Wama ta/teehim min ayatin min ayatirabbihim illa kanoo AAanha muAArideen

    Not one of your Lord’s Signs comes to them without their turning away from it.

  • 47.

    وَاِذَا ق۪يلَ لَهُمْ اَنْفِقُوا مِمَّا رَزَقَكُمُ اللّٰهُۙ قَالَ الَّذ۪ينَ كَفَرُوا لِلَّذ۪ينَ اٰمَنُٓوا اَنُطْعِمُ مَنْ لَوْ يَشَٓاءُ اللّٰهُ اَطْعَمَهُۗ اِنْ اَنْتُمْ اِلَّا ف۪ي ضَلَالٍ مُب۪ينٍ

    Wa-itha qeela lahum anfiqoo mimmarazaqakumu Allahu qala allatheena kafaroolillatheena amanoo anutAAimu man law yashaoAllahu atAAamahu in antum illa fee dalalinmubeen

    And when they are told, ‘Spend from the provision Allah has given you,’ those who are kafir say to those who have iman, ‘Why should we feed someone whom, if He wished, Allah would feed Himself? You are clearly in error. ’

  • 48.

    وَيَقُولُونَ مَتٰى هٰذَا الْوَعْدُ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِق۪ينَ

    Wayaqooloona mata hathaalwaAAdu in kuntum sadiqeen

    And they say, ‘When will this promise come about if you are telling the truth?’

  • 49.

    مَا يَنْظُرُونَ اِلَّا صَيْحَةً وَاحِدَةً تَأْخُذُهُمْ وَهُمْ يَخِصِّمُونَ

    Ma yanthuroona illasayhatan wahidatan ta/khuthuhum wahumyakhissimoon

    What are they waiting for but one Great Blast to seize them while they are quibbling?

  • 50.

    فَلَا يَسْتَط۪يعُونَ تَوْصِيَةً وَلَٓا اِلٰٓى اَهْلِهِمْ يَرْجِعُونَ۟

    Fala yastateeAAoona tawsiyatanwala ila ahlihim yarjiAAoon

    They will not be able to make a will or return to their families.

  • 51.

    وَنُفِـخَ فِي الصُّورِ فَاِذَا هُمْ مِنَ الْاَجْدَاثِ اِلٰى رَبِّهِمْ يَنْسِلُونَ

    Wanufikha fee assoori fa-ithahum mina al-ajdathi ila rabbihim yansiloon

    The Trumpet will be blown and at once they will be sliding from their graves towards their Lord.

  • 52.

    قَالُوا يَا وَيْلَنَا مَنْ بَعَثَنَا مِنْ مَرْقَدِنَ۔اۢ هٰذَا مَا وَعَدَ الرَّحْمٰنُ وَصَدَقَ الْمُرْسَلُونَ

    Qaloo ya waylana manbaAAathana min marqadina hatha mawaAAada arrahmanu wasadaqaalmursaloon

    They will say, ‘Alas for us! Who has raised us from our resting-place? This is what the All-Merciful promised us. The Messengers were telling the truth.’

  • 53.

    اِنْ كَانَتْ اِلَّا صَيْحَةً وَاحِدَةً فَاِذَا هُمْ جَم۪يعٌ لَدَيْنَا مُحْضَرُونَ

    In kanat illa sayhatanwahidatan fa-itha hum jameeAAun ladayna muhdaroon

    It will be but one Great Blast, and they will all be summoned to Our presence.

  • 54.

    فَالْيَوْمَ لَا تُظْلَمُ نَفْسٌ شَيْـٔاً وَلَا تُجْزَوْنَ اِلَّا مَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ

    Falyawma la tuthlamunafsun shay-an wala tujzawna illa ma kuntumtaAAmaloon

    Today no self will be wronged in any way. You will only be repaid for what you did.

  • 55.

    اِنَّ اَصْحَابَ الْجَنَّةِ الْيَوْمَ ف۪ي شُغُلٍ فَاكِهُونَۚ

    Inna as-haba aljannati alyawmafee shughulin fakihoon

    The Companions of the Garden are busy enjoying themselves today,

  • 56.

    هُمْ وَاَزْوَاجُهُمْ ف۪ي ظِلَالٍ عَلَى الْاَرَٓائِكِ مُتَّكِؤُ۫نَ

    Hum waazwajuhum fee thilalinAAala al-ara-iki muttaki-oon

    they and their wives reclining on couches in the shade.

  • 57.

    لَهُمْ ف۪يهَا فَاكِهَةٌ وَلَهُمْ مَا يَدَّعُونَۚ

    Lahum feeha fakihatun walahumma yaddaAAoon

    They will have fruits there and whatever they request.

  • 58.

    سَلَامٌ قَوْلاً مِنْ رَبٍّ رَح۪يمٍ

    Salamun qawlan min rabbin raheem

    ‘Peace!’ A word from a Merciful Lord.

  • 59.

    وَامْتَازُوا الْيَوْمَ اَيُّهَا الْمُجْرِمُونَ

    Wamtazoo alyawma ayyuhaalmujrimoon

    ‘Keep yourselves apart today, you evildoers!

  • 60.

    اَلَمْ اَعْهَدْ اِلَيْكُمْ يَا بَن۪ٓي اٰدَمَ اَنْ لَا تَعْبُدُوا الشَّيْطَانَۚ اِنَّهُ لَكُمْ عَدُوٌّ مُب۪ينٌۙ

    Alam aAAhad ilaykum ya banee adamaan la taAAbudoo ashshaytana innahu lakumAAaduwwun mubeen

    Did I not make a contract with you, tribe of Adam, not to worship Shaytan, who truly is an outright enemy to you,

  • 61.

    وَاَنِ اعْبُدُون۪يۜ هٰذَا صِرَاطٌ مُسْتَق۪يمٌ

    Waani oAAbudoonee hatha siratunmustaqeem

    but to worship Me? That is a straight path.

  • 62.

    وَلَقَدْ اَضَلَّ مِنْكُمْ جِبِلاًّ كَث۪يراًۜ اَفَلَمْ تَكُونُوا تَعْقِلُونَ

    Walaqad adalla minkum jibillankatheeran afalam takoonoo taAAqiloon

    He has led huge numbers of you into error. Why did you not use your intellect?

  • 63.

    هٰذِه۪ جَهَنَّمُ الَّت۪ي كُنْتُمْ تُوعَدُونَ

    Hathihi jahannamu allatee kuntumtooAAadoon

    This is the Hell that you were promised.

  • 64.

    اِصْلَوْهَا الْيَوْمَ بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَكْفُرُونَ

    Islawha alyawma bimakuntum takfuroon

    Roast in it today because you were kafirun. ’

  • 65.

    اَلْيَوْمَ نَخْتِمُ عَلٰٓى اَفْوَاهِهِمْ وَتُكَلِّمُنَٓا اَيْد۪يهِمْ وَتَشْهَدُ اَرْجُلُهُمْ بِمَا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ

    Alyawma nakhtimu AAala afwahihimwatukallimuna aydeehim watashhadu arjuluhum bima kanooyaksiboon

    Today We seal up their mouths and their hands speak to us, and their feet bear witness to what they have earned.

  • 66.

    وَلَوْ نَشَٓاءُ لَطَمَسْنَا عَلٰٓى اَعْيُنِهِمْ فَاسْتَبَقُوا الصِّرَاطَ فَاَنّٰى يُبْصِرُونَ

    Walaw nashao latamasnaAAala aAAyunihim fastabaqoo assiratafaanna yubsiroon

    If We wished, We could put out their eyes. Then, though they might race for the path, how would they see?

  • 67.

    وَلَوْ نَشَٓاءُ لَمَسَخْنَاهُمْ عَلٰى مَكَانَتِهِمْ فَمَا اسْتَطَاعُوا مُضِياًّ وَلَا يَرْجِعُونَ۟

    Walaw nashao lamasakhnahumAAala makanatihim fama istataAAoo mudiyyanwala yarjiAAoon

    If We wished, We could transform them where they stand so they would neither be able to go out nor return.

  • 68.

    وَمَنْ نُعَمِّرْهُ نُنَكِّسْهُ فِي الْخَلْقِۜ اَفَلَا يَعْقِلُونَ

    Waman nuAAammirhu nunakkis-hu fee alkhalqiafala yaAAqiloon

    When We grant long life to people, We return them to their primal state. So will you not use your intellect?

  • 69.

    وَمَا عَلَّمْنَاهُ الشِّعْرَ وَمَا يَنْبَغ۪ي لَهُۜ اِنْ هُوَ اِلَّا ذِكْرٌ وَقُرْاٰنٌ مُب۪ينٌۙ

    Wama AAallamnahu ashshiAArawama yanbaghee lahu in huwa illa thikrunwaqur-anun mubeen

    We did not teach him poetry nor would it be right for him. It is simply a reminder and a clear Qur’an

  • 70.

    لِيُنْذِرَ مَنْ كَانَ حَياًّ وَيَحِقَّ الْقَوْلُ عَلَى الْكَافِر۪ينَ

    Liyunthira man kana hayyanwayahiqqa alqawlu AAala alkafireen

    so that you may warn those who are truly alive and so that the Word may be carried out against the kafirun.

  • 71.

    اَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا اَنَّا خَلَقْنَا لَهُمْ مِمَّا عَمِلَتْ اَيْد۪ينَٓا اَنْعَاماً فَهُمْ لَهَا مَالِكُونَ

    Awa lam yaraw anna khalaqnalahum mimma AAamilat aydeena anAAaman fahumlaha malikoon

    Have they not seen how We created for them, by Our own handiwork, livestock which are under their control?

  • 72.

    وَذَلَّلْنَاهَا لَهُمْ فَمِنْهَا رَكُوبُهُمْ وَمِنْهَا يَأْكُلُونَ

    Wathallalnaha lahumfaminha rakoobuhum waminha ya/kuloon

    We have made them tame for them and some they ride and some they eat.

  • 73.

    وَلَهُمْ ف۪يهَا مَنَافِـعُ وَمَشَارِبُۜ اَفَلَا يَشْكُرُونَ

    Walahum feeha manafiAAu wamasharibuafala yashkuroon

    And they have other uses for them, and milk to drink. So will they not be thankful?

  • 74.

    وَاتَّخَذُوا مِنْ دُونِ اللّٰهِ اٰلِهَةً لَعَلَّهُمْ يُنْصَرُونَۜ

    Wattakhathoo min dooni Allahialihatan laAAallahum yunsaroon

    They have taken gods besides Allah so that perhaps they may be helped.

  • 75.

    لَا يَسْتَط۪يعُونَ نَصْرَهُمْۙ وَهُمْ لَهُمْ جُنْدٌ مُحْضَرُونَ

    La yastateeAAoona nasrahumwahum lahum jundun muhdaroon

    They cannot help them even though they are an army mobilised in their support.

  • 76.

    فَلَا يَحْزُنْكَ قَوْلُهُمْۢ اِنَّا نَعْلَمُ مَا يُسِرُّونَ وَمَا يُعْلِنُونَ

    Fala yahzunka qawluhum innanaAAlamu ma yusirroona wama yuAAlinoon

    So do not let their words distress you. We know what they keep secret and what they divulge.

  • 77.

    اَوَلَمْ يَرَ الْاِنْسَانُ اَنَّا خَلَقْنَاهُ مِنْ نُطْفَةٍ فَاِذَا هُوَ خَص۪يمٌ مُب۪ينٌ

    Awa lam yara al-insanu annakhalaqnahu min nutfatin fa-itha huwa khaseemunmubeen

    Does not man see that We created him from a drop yet there he is, an open antagonist!

  • 78.

    وَضَرَبَ لَنَا مَثَلاً وَنَسِيَ خَلْقَهُۜ قَالَ مَنْ يُحْـيِ الْعِظَامَ وَهِيَ رَم۪يمٌ

    Wadaraba lana mathalanwanasiya khalqahu qala man yuhyee alAAithamawahiya rameem

    He makes likenesses of Us and forgets his own creation, saying, ‘Who will give life to bones when they are decayed?’

  • 79.

    قُلْ يُحْي۪يهَا الَّـذ۪ٓي اَنْشَاَهَٓا اَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍۜ وَهُوَ بِكُلِّ خَلْقٍ عَل۪يمٌۙ

    Qul yuhyeeha allatheeanshaaha awwala marratin wahuwa bikulli khalqin AAaleem

    Say ‘He who made them in the first place will bring them back to life. He has total knowledge of each created thing;

  • 80.

    اَلَّذ۪ي جَعَلَ لَكُمْ مِنَ الشَّجَرِ الْاَخْضَرِ نَاراً فَاِذَٓا اَنْتُمْ مِنْهُ تُوقِدُونَ

    Allathee jaAAala lakum mina ashshajarial-akhdari naran fa-itha antum minhutooqidoon

    He Who produces fire for you from green trees so that you use them to light your fires. ’

  • 81.

    اَوَلَيْسَ الَّذ۪ي خَلَقَ السَّمٰوَاتِ وَالْاَرْضَ بِقَادِرٍ عَلٰٓى اَنْ يَخْلُقَ مِثْلَهُمْۜ بَلٰى وَهُوَ الْخَلَّاقُ الْعَل۪يمُ

    Awa laysa allathee khalaqa assamawatiwal-arda biqadirin AAala an yakhluqamithlahum bala wahuwa alkhallaqu alAAaleem

    Does He who created the heavens and earth not have the power to create the same again? Yes indeed! He is the Creator, the All-Knowing.

  • 82.

    اِنَّـمَٓا اَمْرُهُٓ اِذَٓا اَرَادَ شَيْـٔاً اَنْ يَقُولَ لَهُ كُنْ فَيَكُونُ

    Innama amruhu itha aradashay-an an yaqoola lahu kun fayakoon

    His command when He desires a thing is just to say to it, ‘Be!’ and it is.

  • 83.

    فَسُبْحَانَ الَّذ۪ي بِيَدِه۪ مَلَكُوتُ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَاِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ

    Fasubhana allathee biyadihimalakootu kulli shay-in wa-ilayhi turjaAAoon

    Glory be to Him Who has the Dominion of all things in His Hand. To Him you will be returned.
