9. Surah At-Tawbah, Verse 113
مَا كَانَ لِلنَّبِيِّ وَالَّذ۪ينَ اٰمَنُٓوا اَنْ يَسْتَغْفِرُوا لِلْمُشْرِك۪ينَ وَلَوْ كَانُٓوا اُو۬ل۪ي قُرْبٰى مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُمْ اَنَّهُمْ اَصْحَابُ الْجَح۪يمِ
Ma kana linnabiyyi wallatheenaamanoo an yastaghfiroo lilmushrikeena walaw kanooolee qurba min baAAdi ma tabayyana lahum annahum as-habualjaheem
It is not right for the Prophet and those who have iman to ask forgiveness for the idolaters – even if they are close relatives – after it has become clear to them that they are the Companions of the Blazing Fire.
