8. Surah Al-Anfal, Verse 25

And be aware of a test that will not only afflict those of you who were wicked; and know that God is severe in retribution.

Beware of a tribulation that may not be limited to the wrongdoers among you. Know that Allah is strict in retribution. (There is a strong link between individual and collective good).

And be in prudent fear of a means of denial not to befall those who do wrong among you exclusively; and know that God is severe in retribution.

And be aware of a test that will not only afflict those of you who were wicked; and know that God is severe in retribution.

Be fearful of trials which will not afflict solely those among you who do wrong. Know that Allah is severe in retribution.

Beware of a retribution that may not be limited to the evildoers among you. You should know that GOD's retribution is severe.,

Beware of sedition, which does not affect the oppressors alone among you, and know that the punishment of God is severe.

And fear a trial which will not strike those who have wronged among you exclusively, and know that Allah is severe in penalty.

And beware of that temptation to evil which does not befall only those among you who are bent on denying the truth, to the exclusion of others; and know that God is severe in retribution.

And guard yourselves against a chastisement which cannot fall exclusively on those of you who are wrong-doers, and know that Allah is severe in punishment.

And avoid dissension, temptation and discord which may be brewed by some and practiced by others. The fatal consequence does not fall only on the wrongful but it unites all of you, and you must realize that Allah punishes severely.

Raise against that kind of collective sins [which is committed by the society as a whole and not a person (such as the passage of those "civil laws" which contradict the Divine laws,. ..] which its punishment is not limited to those who commit it [but will afflict the whole society.] Know that God subjects the guilty ones to the most sever kind of punishment.

And fear the Fitnah (affliction and trial) which affects not in particular (only) those of you who do wrong (but it may afflict all the good and the bad people), and know that Allâh is Severe in punishment.

And fear tumult or oppression, which affecteth not in particular (only) those of you who do wrong: and know that Allah is strict in punishment.

Beware of a trial that will not only affect the wrongdoers among you. And know that Allah is severe in punishment.

And beware of a scourge that shall not fall only on the wrongdoers from among you, and know well that Allah is severe at punishment

Beware of discord that harms not only the wrongdoers among you: know that God is severe in His punishment.

And fear a trial which shall surely not smite in particular the evildoers among you; and know that God is terrible in retribution.

And fear temptation, which will not light especially on those of you who have done wrong; but know that God is keen to punish.

And fear temptation (or trial, chastisement, oppression, discord, chaos) which falls not exclusively on those of you who have done wrong; but know that Allah is severe in punishment.

And protect yourselves against a temptation which will definitely not afflict in particular the ones who did injustice among you; and that Allah is strict in punishment.

And beware of an affliction which will surely not smite exclusively those among you who have done wrong. And know that Allah is Severe in requiting.

And fear the affliction (and retribution), which affects not only those of you in particular, who do wrong: (But also the innocent and weak), and know that Allah is strict in punishment.

And guard against an affliction which surely will not afflict only those of you in particular who have acted unjustly (but it will involve others also who are inclined towards them); and know that Allâh is Severe in requiting.

And beware of a punishment which shall not visit the wrongdoers among you exclusively, and know that Allah is severe in retribution.
