73. Surah Al-Muzzammil, Verse 7

For you have many duties during the day.

Behold, by day you are engaged in continued strife.

Thou hast by day much movement,

For you have many duties during the day.

In the daytime much of your time is taken up by business matters.

You have a lot of time during the day for other matters.

Indeed during the day you have a long schedule of occupations.

Indeed, for you by day is prolonged occupation.

whereas by day a long chain of doings is thy portion.

Lo! thou hast by day a chain of business.

You have all day long to attend to the world and its pursuits.

… as you are tied up during day with daily worldly affairs.

Verily, there is for you by day prolonged occupation with ordinary duties.

True, there is for thee by day prolonged occupation with ordinary duties:

For during the day you are over-occupied ˹with worldly duties˺.

Surely, in daytime, you have a lengthy work to do.

you are kept busy for long periods of the day––

surely in the day thou hast long business.

Verily, thou hast by day a long employment;

Surely you have in the daytime a long occupation (with ordinary affairs of life).

Surely in the daytime you have long employment.

For in the day-time thou hast long employment.

Verily, for you by the day, there is long (and hard) work with ordinary duties:

Indeed, you have a long (chain of) engagements during the day.

for indeed during the day you have drawn-out engagements.
