5. Surah Al-Ma'idah, Verse 1
يَٓا اَيُّهَا الَّذ۪ينَ اٰمَنُٓوا اَوْفُوا بِالْعُقُودِۜ اُحِلَّتْ لَكُمْ بَه۪يمَةُ الْاَنْعَامِ اِلَّا مَا يُتْلٰى عَلَيْكُمْ غَيْرَ مُحِلِّي الصَّيْدِ وَاَنْتُمْ حُرُمٌۜ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ يَحْكُمُ مَا يُر۪يدُ
Ya ayyuha allatheena amanooawfoo bilAAuqoodi ohillat lakum baheematu al-anAAamiilla ma yutla AAalaykum ghayra muhilleeassaydi waantum hurumun inna Allahayahkumu ma yureed
You who have iman! fulfil your contracts. All livestock animals are halal for you, except those that are recited to you now; but it is still not halal to hunt while you are in ihram. Allah makes whatever judgements He wills.

Thus, Allah rendered lawful the flesh of camels, cows, sheep and the live animals reared for food excepting those designated forbidden. Nor are you permitted to chase wild animals or game while you are on pilgrimage -major or minor- nor in the environs of the Sacrosanct Mosque. Allah ordains what He will.
