13. Surah Ar-Ra'd, Verse 12

He is the One who shows you the lightning, giving you fear and hope. And He establishes the heavy clouds.

He it is Who displays before you the lightning, to cause fear and hope, and initiates heavy clouds. (Similarly, the Light of Guidance brings to you the warning and a good tiding.)

He it is that shows you the lightning as fear and hope, and produces the heavy clouds.

He is the One who shows you the lightning, giving you fear and hope. And He establishes the heavy clouds.

He is the One who shows you the lightning, giving you fear and hope. He establishes the heavy clouds.

It is He Who shows you the lightning, striking fear and bringing hope; it is He Who heaps up the heavy clouds.

He is the One who shows you the lightning as a source of fear, as well as hope, and He initiates the loaded clouds.

It is He who makes the lightning flash for fear and hope, and raises massive clouds.

It is He who shows you lightening, [causing] fear and aspiration, and generates the heavy clouds.

HE IT IS who displays before you the lightning, to give rise to [both] fear and hope, and calls heavy clouds into being;

He it is Who showeth you the lightning, a fear and a hope, and raiseth the heavy clouds.

He is it Who exhibits to view the lightening -the electrical discharges between groups of clouds or between the clouds and the ground- which actuate you people with the feeling of fear. It might bring suffering, strike one dead or engender a cyclonic storm. Also with the feeling of hope of rainfalls to revive the land that has been pined with drought- and He is it Who engenders the thick clouds, the cumulus and the cumulus nimbus.

He is the One Who orders the lightening to strike right before your own eyes. Although you are frightened, you wish for it (for the rain that follows it.) He is the One Who raises the clouds saturated with water.

It is He Who shows you the lightning, as a fear (for travellers) and as a hope (for those who wait for rain). And it is He Who brings up (or originates) the clouds, heavy (with water).

It is He Who doth show you the lightning, by way both of fear and of hope: It is He Who doth raise up the clouds, heavy with (fertilising) rain!

He is the One Who shows you lightning, inspiring ˹you with˺ hope and fear,[1] and produces heavy clouds.

He is the One who makes you see the lightening in fear and hope, and who forms the heavy clouds.

It is He who shows you the lightning, inspiring fear and hope; He builds up the clouds heavy with rain;

It is He who shows you the lightning, for fear and hope, and produces the heavy clouds;

He it is who shows you the lightning for fear and hope; and He brings up the heavy clouds.

Each of them has a succession (of angels) before him and behind him, to keep guard over him at the command of Allah; verily, Allah changes not the condition of a people until they change that which is in their heart (or in their souls or change it for themselves). And when Allah wishes misfortune for a people there is no averting it, nor have they a protector beside Him.

He is The (One) Who shows you the lightning, for fear and longing (of Him), and (who) brings into being the heavy clouds.

It is He who causeth the lightening to appear unto you, to strike fear, and to raise hope, and Who formeth the pregnant clouds.

It is He Who shows you the lightning, both as fear and as hope: And it is He Who raises up the clouds, heavy with rain!

He it is, Who shows you the lightning to induce fear and to inspire hope (in you); and (it is He) Who raises the heavy clouds.

It is He who shows you the lightning, inspiring fear and hope, and He produces the clouds heavy [with rain].
