14. Surah Ibrahim, Verse 15

And they sought victory, and every arrogant tyrant was then made to lose.

The Messengers earnestly sought help from their Lord, and every stubborn tyrant ended up frustrated.

And they sought decision; and every obstinate tyrant failed:

Andthey sought victory, and every arrogant tyrant was then made to lose.

They sought victory, and every arrogant tyrant was then failed.

They asked for Allah’s victory, and every obdurate tyrant failed.

They issued a challenge, and consequently, every stubborn tyrant ended up doomed.

Then (the apostles) asked of God's assistance, and every arrogant tyrant was frustrated:

And they requested victory from Allah, and disappointed, [therefore], was every obstinate tyrant.

And they prayed [to God] that the truth be made to triumph. And [thus it is:] every arrogant enemy of the truth shall be undone [in the life to come],

And they sought help (from their Lord) and every froward potentate was bought to naught;

The Messengers prayed for victory and the infidels entertained expectation of triumph and suppression of their adversaries -the Muslims-, but the hopes of every transgressor who is self-willed and opinionated are doomed to disappointment.

They challenged the Lord and received what they deserved. Every tyrant has to face his doom.

And they (the Messengers) sought victory and help [from their Lord (Allâh)]; and every obstinate, arrogant dictator (who refuses to believe in the Oneness of Allâh) was brought to a complete loss and destruction.

But they sought victory and decision (there and then), and frustration was the lot of every powerful obstinate transgressor.

And both sides called for judgment, so every stubborn tyrant was doomed.

They sought final decision (by demanding the divine scourge), and (thus) every obstinate tyrant failed.

They asked God to decide, and every obstinate tyrant failed-

They sought a judgment; then was disappointed every froward tyrant --

Then they asked for an issue; and disappointed was every rebel tyrant!

Then they sought to force a decision (to settle the matter in their favour); and disappointed was every rebel tyrant!

And they (The Messengers) sought assistance (from Allah), and every stubborn potentate was disappointed.

And they asked assistance of God, and every rebellious perverse person failed of success.

And they wanted to win and (wanted) the decision, and failure (and defeat) was the fate of every powerful (and) willful transgressor.

They sought a judgment, (but when it came) every haughty person (and) enemy (of truth) met with no success (and was utterly disappointed).

They prayed for victory [against the infidels], and every obdurate tyrant has failed,
