111. Surah Al-Masad The Palm Fibre

  • بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّح۪يمِ

    Bismi Allahi arrahmani arraheem

    In the name of Allah, All-Merciful, Most Merciful

  • 1.

    تَبَّتْ يَدَٓا اَب۪ي لَهَبٍ وَتَبَّۜ

    Tabbat yada abee lahabin watab

    Ruin to the hands of Abu Lahab and ruin to him!

  • 2.

    مَٓا اَغْنٰى عَنْهُ مَالُهُ وَمَا كَسَبَۜ

    Ma aghna AAanhu maluhuwama kasab

    His wealth has not helped him nor anything he has earned.

  • 3.

    سَيَصْلٰى نَاراً ذَاتَ لَهَبٍۚ

    Sayasla naran thatalahab

    He will burn in a Flaming Fire.

  • 4.

    وَامْرَاَتُهُۜ حَمَّالَةَ الْحَطَبِۚ

    Wamraatuhu hammalata alhatab

    And so will his wife, the firewood-carrier,

  • 5.

    ف۪ي ج۪يدِهَا حَبْلٌ مِنْ مَسَدٍ

    Fee jeediha hablun min masad

    with a rope of twisted fibre round her neck.
