74. Surah Al-Muddaththir, Verse 6

And do not give expecting something in return.

And give your wealth and person selflessly (30:39), (76:9).

And show thou not favour seeking gain,

And do not give for a return.

Do not be greedy.

Do not give out of a desire for gain.

Be content with your lot.

Do not bestow favours in expectation of return,

And do not confer favor to acquire more

And do not through giving seek thyself to gain,

And show not favour, seeking wordly gain!

Do not give, expecting to take more than what you have given,

Worship your Lord for the sake of glorifying Him; and out of love and not just in account of expecting things in return. Your worshipping is not a favor that you do for God.

And give not a thing in order to have more (or consider not your deeds of obedience to Allâh as a favour to Him).

Nor expect, in giving, any increase (for thyself)!

Do not do a favour expecting more ˹in return˺.[1]

and do not do a favour (to anyone merely) to seek more (in return).

do not be overwhelmed and weaken;

Give not, thinking to gain greater

And grant not favours to gain increase!

And bestow not favours that you may receive again with increase,

And be not bountiful, (hoping) to gain more,

And be not liberal, in hopes to receive more in return:

And do not expect, in giving (the warning), any gain (for yourself)!

And bestow no favour seeking to get more (in return).

Do not grant a favour seeking a greater gain,
