وَاِنْ كَانُوا لَيَقُولُونَۙ

Wa-in kanoo layaqooloon

They used to say,

  • Progressive Muslims

    And they used to Say:

  • Shabbir Ahmed

    And indeed the disbelievers used to say,

  • Sam Gerrans

    And they say:

  • The Monotheist Group

    And they used to say:

  • Edip-Layth

    They used to say,

  • Aisha Bewley

    They used to say,

  • Rashad Khalifa

    They used to say,

  • Mohamed Ahmed - Samira

    They used to say:

  • Sahih International

    And indeed, the disbelievers used to say,

  • Muhammad Asad

    AND, INDEED, they [who deny the truth] have always been wont to say,

  • Marmaduke Pickthall

    And indeed they used to say:

  • Abdel Khalek Himmat

    Notwithstanding that before the Prophet's mission there were those* who habited in falsehood and expressed their thoughts in words, thus:

  • Bijan Moeinian

    The Disbelievers used to say:

    And indeed they (Arab pagans) used to say:

    And there were those who said,

    They certainly used to say,

    And they (the pagans) used to say,

    [The disbelievers] used to say,

    And decidedly they (i. e., the disbelievers) indeed used to say,
